About this notebook
A log kept by one person learning to brew better coffee at home, nothing more official than that.
I’m not a barista and I don’t work in coffee. I just got tired of making an expensive bag of beans taste mediocre, and found that writing down what I changed was the fastest way to stop. These pages are those notes, cleaned up slightly so they make sense to someone who isn’t me.
Everything here is what worked on my kitchen counter, with my grinder, in my water. Take the ratios as a starting point and trust your own tongue over my numbers — your beans and your tap are not mine.
Why it reads the way it does
One method per entry, in the order I worked through it. No affiliate links, no shop, no newsletter — if a thing helped, it’s named in the gear page and that’s the end of it. The site is plain static pages on purpose; it loads fast and will still open in ten years.

If something here is plainly wrong I’d like to know. There’s a contact line in the colophon.
